UPenn, Princeton & TOC

Both teams win against UPenn and Princeton

The Harvard squash teams played their first matches of the year this past weekend and brought home critical wins against both UPenn and Princeton.

After losing against Dartmouth in December, our men’s team bounced back and beat UPenn 6-3 before winning against Princeton 9-0. Our women recorded the same scores against both teams. The women’s win against UPenn was particularly significant as UPenn beat Harvard last season and won the Ivy title.

Sobhy beats world #2 at the TOC - playing in the quarterfinal tomorrow

Amanda Sobhy '15 took one of the biggest wins of her career against world #2, Raneem El Welily, at the Tournament of Champions in NYC yesterday. Amanda will play against Alison Waters in the quarterfinal tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2:30pm.

Our teams will be at Grand Central Station supporting Amanda so if you’re in the area, stop by to say hi and watch the match. Tickets for sidewall seats cost $10. And as a reminder: We have an alumni hit-around and get-together at the Harvard Club of New York later that night. The event starts at 7pm.

The college season continues next week with matches against St. Lawrence (Jan 18th), Rochester (Jan 23rd) and F&M (Jan 24th).

Hope to see you in NYC or at one of the upcoming matches. Go Crimson!
